We were hiking along the hillside, near where last summer's terrible fire was stopped in its tracks. Here we found a gnarled oak tree clinging to the hillside. Though the forest fire singed this beautiful tree--you can see it has sprouted green leaves.
If you look closely, you will see the shape of a gnarled heart in this tenacious old oak. I thought it beautiful.
