Survivor -SkyWatch Friday

I took this picture near The Dalles, Oregon.  Can you see the oval etched against the skies?  It is perfectly face-shaped.  This striking oval is an unusual formation to discover in the branches of a tree.

Last August this oak tree was scorched by the flames of a forest fire, yet it lives.  There is new growth beneath the painful burning.  It is a beautiful reminder of hope in the midst of hardship. This photo brings to mind one of the beautiful Psalms of David.

"He (or she) is like a tree planted by streams of water
That yields its fruit in its season,
And its leaf does not wither."
~Psalm 1:3

Have a lovely weekend.
