Dog Hair Heart - Guest Heart Thursday

In keeping with today's theme for Guest Heart Thursday, check out this dog hair heart--completely formed without the benefit of human hands.  My darling niece and I found it on our walk to the park.  We both thought it marvelous.

The Shining

I love the way you can see the sun shining through those clouds.  If you look closely toward the bottom left, you can clearly see a dark triangle hanging there.  I'm always amazed at what can be found in the clouds.  Especially the straight line of such things as this triangle!

Icy Heart - Guest Heart Thursday

Last week I stayed in Washington for a couple of days.  The morning was crisp and clear when we awakened that first morning.  My Friend Bev and I walked outside--it is amazing what one can find in a yard when the ice faeries have been at play.  Here you see this heart shaped leaf turned into a jeweled piece a faery queen would wear.

Here's a close up of those ice crystals.  I am as amazed by the small things of our world, as I am at the larger ones.  Such exquisite symmetry--such a lovely capture of jewels and light.

Heart of Tomato - Guest Heart Thursday

Yes, I know--these are not clouds.  However--the shape occurred naturally, so in a way, it fits!

I love tomatoes--one of my best memories of childhood was when my siblings and I would head for the tomato patch, salt shaker in hand.  There in the hot late summer sunshine we would eat until the red juice dribbled down our chins.  There was such a feeling of contentment and laughter.

Sometimes I long for those long ago days of childhood, when time passed slowly and everything was new.

Shroom Hearts - Guest Heart Thursday

On our way home from Spokane, Washington, in one of the parks we visited, we found these amazing heart-shaped mushrooms at the base of a tree.  Not only did these naturally form heart shapes, but there is a near-perfect circle in the gathering of three mushrooms on the right.

Pink Sphere

A few weeks ago, my Friend Peggy and I, on our way home spotted the most amazing Sunset.  There was even a pink rainbow--which, because of the darkness of the hour, didn't come out.

We were both amazed by this sphere shape in the clouds.  This is a pale representation of what it looked like in real life.

Sunset's Heart - Guest Heart Thursday

On the way to my youngest sister's place Monday evening, I caught this heart within a heart within the most gorgeous sunset I've seen in a long time.  Enjoy!

You are Being Watched...

I've seen eyes in the skies for a long time.  I never said too much about them, because I was sure someone would think I was crazy.  (grin)  Then, years ago, driving near the Baskett Slough bird sanctuary, I caught this set of beaming eyes with my very first digital camera.

Working in my garden last summer, I looked up to find this set of eyes watching me over the shoulder of the next door neighbor's tree.

And finally, here is a set of scary tilted eyes I captured over the back fence.  Eeeek!

So if you ever feel you are being watched--you know, that prickly creeping sensation on the back of your neck--check to see if the eyes of the clouds are watching!

Happy Snap Apple Day!

Magic Lights

Our journey home from Spokane took us through Oregon's great Columbia Gorge.  My husband and I took our time, stopping frequently.  Just as the sun was setting we decided to pull off at a small park neither one of us had been to before.  The late sunshine slanted through the trees as we walked hand in hand to the edge of the waters.

It was beautiful--hard to describe the lovely magic of this place.  There was a colorful rainbow quality to the air and bits of cottonwood drifted through the sunshine like tiny faeries.  My husband and I swung in the swings and laughed like children.  The river sparkled its magical dreams.

The next day, I took a look at the photos from the park.  I gasped when I saw this picture.  An unexpected square of colorful reflections.  Probably a trick of the camera--but amazing all the same.

The qualities of our world, reflections, light, shapes of cloud, tree, hill and mountain will never cease to amaze my soul.

Spider Web Hearts - Guest Heart Thursday

Here's another of Nature's amazing natural shapes.  Without any instruction, these two spiders each set a heart in their web.  One found within the web, the next is the shape of the entire web! A perfect choice for Guest Heart Thursday!

Sea Heart - Guest Heart Thursday

I have always loved the sea--I haven't been there since this Spring.  This sea heart can be found at low tide along the foot of the cliffs of Pacific City.  The cliffs and tide pools there are amazing.

Triangle Cliff

I am always amazed by the natural geometric forms one can find in nature.  This is a triangle shaped cliff area in the Columbia Gorge, near The Dalles, Oregon--on the Washington side.  You can see the Great Columbia River in between.

Surreal Heart - Guest Heart Thursday

I caught this wispy surreal heart on the edge of a storm heading our way.  There's something so fragile and whimsical about this bit of heart in the clouds.

Happy Heart - Guest Heart Thursday

I took this photo just after arriving home.  I had just brought Sissy Clytie back home from the hospital.  Her face was pink, her smile was bright.  I am SO grateful to God for her well-being, for the fervent prayers of dear Friends...and for this happy heart which appeared in the skies.

Shaggy Heart - Guest Heart Thursday

I often see hearts in the clouds--they tend to gather, then disperse very quickly--sometimes before I can even click the camera button.  Happy I caught this Shaggy Heart, just as it was about to become something else.

Surreal Circle

There's something magical about this photo--a Surreal Circle.  In my imagination I see a porthole to another world.  (grin)  I am continually amazed by the beauty and strange shapes one can find in the skies.

Have a wonderful week.  Keep looking up!

Heart Wave - Guest Heart Thursday

I am amazed at how many perfect hearts I see in the clouds.  Perhaps the Creator is blowing us kisses?  This heart seems to be waving goodbye before disappearing behind the trees.  There is also a very clear profile of a man on the right-hand side of the heart.  Amazing!  Have a lovely week everyone!

Mysterious Heart - Guest Heart Thursday

This heart was taken last spring just before another soggy rain storm rolled through.  For me it was the promise of sunshine ahead, or the old saying, "every dark cloud has a silver lining."

Popcorn Clouds

I love these popcorn clouds--they scud in a bumpy stream across the skies like cloudy white water.  The sun sparkles and rainbows were just spectacular!  How I love this ethereal shot.

Sister Sky Heart - Guest Heart Thursday

I see the most hearts in the clouds, when I'm talking to Sissy--the Queen of Hearts.  It is as though they know I'm speaking to her.  So with camera in hand I capture their images.  This is one of those wonderful Sister Sky Hearts!

Blue Sky Brownies

I apologize for being gone so long--my computer broke down and I was offline for sometime.  She's back up and running again--for which I'm thankful!

Every now and then I catch a glimpse of clouds which look like a huge pan of fluffy blue "brownies" cut into precise squares.  The above picture, taken from the south end of our home, is one such occurrence.

Nature's Five Pointed Star

Sissy and I were walking along the road near The Abandoned, when I spied this star.  The shape was so perfect it took our breath away.  It seemed to be naturally occurring--you can see where the new growth is creeping back over the dead blackberry canes.

Nature has it's own Geometric shapes--this astounding star is one of them.

Sideways Triangle Cloud

I caught this intriguing triangle cloud on our trip through Oregon's great Columbia  Gorge this last Spring.  I am continually astonished by the frequent appearance of various angles and shapes which appear in the skies above us.

Kitty Eyes

Out and about last week, I felt like I was being watched!  Sure enough -- glancing into the sky, I surprised these kitty eyes.  I think she winked just after I took her photo.

Circular

I took this picture of a perfect circle cloud out the window of our car as we traveled down Oregon Interstate 5.  In a few moments it was gone.  How blessed I am to have caught it before it disappeared!

Back Yard Heart - Guest Heart Thursday

I was out in the garden earlier this spring, when what do I see but a heart floating overhead. The clouds blew me a kiss!

Caped Crusader, or is it?

I can see many things in this oddly shaped configuration of clouds.  Could it be a dolphin?  Maybe it's superman looking upward, his billowing cape flowing behind him.  OR, perhaps it is a giant pair of lips!  What do YOU see?

Heart Face - Guest Heart Thursday

As Sissy and I walked back home, The Abandoned blew a kiss for all to see.  If you look closely, there are also two faces--one looking to the left, the other to the right.  My favorite is the dear little face smiling to the right.

The Edge of Thunder

As we drove home through the Oregon's great Columbia Gorge, a thickening thunderstorm followed along.  Wind whipped the air. Hail pelted the windows and lightning flashed overhead.  Then quite suddenly, we were out and away--into the sunshine.

Looking back at the storm, I caught this interesting triangle cloud on The Edge of Thunder.
