Green in Glory Light

As we waited for dusk to settle before fireworks on July 4th, the sun cast a golden glory light over the trees and river.  This rich green color is exactly what we saw.

Most folks call beams of light streaming from the clouds, glory light.   When I was a child, Mumsie added to that definition when she called this wonderful golden light, glory light.

We would run out to where the light landed on the trees and dance.  In our eyes, we were covered with gold and were blessed with beauty when we did this.  It was magical.

Ah, childhood.

Have a beautiful day!  I hope you see some glory light.

Storm's A' Coming -SkyWatch Friday

I was so amazed by the luminous colors over the fields and the straight lines of glory in the far hills.  I couldn't help but stop to take pictures.

So perfect for SkyWatch Friday!

Sprawling Glory -SkyWatch Friday

I was stunned by the sheer beauty of the clouds last week.  This is just a sample.  In fact, the glorylight beneath the clouds is in the shape of a heart.

Rainstorm Heart -Guest Heart Thursday

We've had more of our share of soaking rainstorms this Fall.   This awesome gleaming heart appeared just before a huge deluge.  I thought it perfect for this week's Guest Heart Thursday--and for Halloween--a holiday known not only for its costumes and spooky traditions--but a time of grave darkness (no pun intended), which will be pressed back by the light of the Creator.

Heart of Light -Guest Heart Thursday

I took this picture as the sun set, during a wonderful trip my sister and I took to Pacific City on the Oregon Coast.  This brilliant heart of light seemed perfect for today.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Magic Lights

Our journey home from Spokane took us through Oregon's great Columbia Gorge.  My husband and I took our time, stopping frequently.  Just as the sun was setting we decided to pull off at a small park neither one of us had been to before.  The late sunshine slanted through the trees as we walked hand in hand to the edge of the waters.

It was beautiful--hard to describe the lovely magic of this place.  There was a colorful rainbow quality to the air and bits of cottonwood drifted through the sunshine like tiny faeries.  My husband and I swung in the swings and laughed like children.  The river sparkled its magical dreams.

The next day, I took a look at the photos from the park.  I gasped when I saw this picture.  An unexpected square of colorful reflections.  Probably a trick of the camera--but amazing all the same.

The qualities of our world, reflections, light, shapes of cloud, tree, hill and mountain will never cease to amaze my soul.

Squares in Glory

When Sissy and I went to the beach I caught these square clouds in glory light.  I counted three squares in all--I thought them breathtaking.
