Beach Sky Beauty

In January I visited Gleneden Beach in Oregon.  The weather was glorious.  Above is a triangle cloud I captured, lingering over the ocean.

It hung over the sea for the longest time.  I stayed until the cloud turned into a fat little man who seemed to wave when I smiled at him.

Muscle Heart -Guest Heart Thursday

I found so many hearts at the seashore when my husband and I stayed in Oregon's magnificent Pacific City.  This is a muscle shell.  The inside of this shell is beautiful--looks like blue and purple rainbow mother-of-pearl.

Walking on the beach with my darling husband, celebrating our anniversary of 31 years--of COURSE I would find hearts!

Sunset at Sea Heart -Guest Heart Thursday

I have posted this before, I think.  I have had a longing for the sea--and I know my darling Sissy has also felt this.  Hence, I am posting this sunset heart over the sea for  YOU, dear Sis.

Rock 'n Ocean -Guest Heart Thursday

Sweet sissy Clytie loves the ocean--so this one is for you, Honey!  Can you see the rock heart behind the surf's spray?  It took me a minute--but it is there.

"Oh come, let us sing to the Lord;
Let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation!
Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving;
Let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise!
For the Lord is a great God,
and a great King above all gods.
In his hand are the depths of the earth;
the heights of the mountains are his also.
The sea is his, for he made it,
And his hands formed the dry land."
~A Psalm of David
(Psalm 95:1-5)

Have a lovely day and Happy Guest Heart Thursday!

Tidepool Heart -Guest Heart Thursday

The tidepools were amazing.  What a subtle world of beauty.  If you notice, the tidepool is in the shape of a lopsided heart.

I am continually entertained and amazed by the placement of hearts and other shapes throughout nature.  I found this beautiful seaweed heart in a tide pool.  There are several hearts to be found here.

The tide was coming in, crashing along the sides of the sandstone cliffs.

Pacific City on the Oregon Coast is renowned for its Dory Boats and for its surfing--though all surfers wear wetsuits to protect themselves from the cold waters.  I asked one of these athletes why they went out along the cliffs.  He explained that during high tide a strong rip tide develops which is used to take them out to the big waves.  He smiled and said it was much better than paddling all the way out there!  Who knew?!

There is a sideways heart in the crown of that stand of trees.  There were two ocean sky opals the night before we left.  It is always magic to see one of these beauties.

Slimy Seaweed Heart -Guest Heart Thursday

This picture was taken at Oregon's Depoe Bay--A beautiful little city with it's own tiny bay.  There are not beaches here--only rocky edges where the legendary Spouting Horn shoots seawater high into the air.

There's a slimy seaweed heart there--and a few more in the foam of the waves.

I have a chance to win a small original painting of my own dear Polydactyl Cat by one of my all-time favorite artists.  If you'd like to vote for Toez, visit Sandrine's Gallery.  Have a lovely day and Happy Guest Heart Thursday!

Sea Heart - Guest Heart Thursday

I have always loved the sea--I haven't been there since this Spring.  This sea heart can be found at low tide along the foot of the cliffs of Pacific City.  The cliffs and tide pools there are amazing.

Sea Circle - Weekend Reflections

Last spring we went for a trip to Pacific City on the Oregon Coast.  This is a beautiful area.  Down the side of a sand dune, near the cave of eagles, I found this floating Sea Circle--reflecting the light of the sky.
