The Love of My Life
Early Thursday morning, October 30th, I lost the love of my life.
I know lots of people are not comfortable with the loss of a loved one and the story of what happened. However, my husband left in such a beautiful way, I wanted to share it with you. If you are uncomfortable with reading this account--I truly, deeply understand. ((HUGS))
I knew something was wrong and I felt uneasy, so Toez the Polydactyl Cat and I sat beside him, as he slept in his big chair. Suddenly he clutched the top part of his chest and said he was in awful pain. A moment later, his eyes grew large, and he gasped as though he saw something indescribably wonderful.
I called 911, and I performed CPR until the ambulance came. Our dear children were able to arrive before he left for the hospital, and we were together there when he flew away to heaven.
As we were hugging and kissing him goodbye, telling him what a wonderful Husband and Father he was and how much we loved him--to be at peace and to not worry about us, the walls of the emergency room were lined with the people who had fought so hard to save him. We told him he had done a great job and we sang his favorite songs and held him as long as we could. Those wonderful people surrounded us....their heads bowed, hands folded, many with tears running down their faces. After a time, they trickled from the room--but stayed close by in the hallway.
As we were getting ready to leave, the head RN came in and said, "We see a lot of these, but it is rare to find a family handle this moment with such great rare beauty, love and dignity." Then he gave us his card and said, "If you need anything let us know."
I have been married to Alan for 31 wonderful years. This wonderful man was the love of my life.
I want to share something beautiful that happened to me early Saturday morning. As I lay trying to sleep, a small sweet breeze slid across my face...and then his dear lips pressed against mine. My husband kissed me goodbye.
Alan was a servant of God and He loved people. He wanted everyone to know God loved them too, and so I am passing his message on to you--God loves you. He longs to know you, God wants to share His son and the world He created for you--in a whole different way than you've ever known.
My precious friends--many of you, who have suffered terrible pain and loss--may God bless you with joy--even in the midst of great sorrow.

Sky Sketch
To me, it looks like someone took a huge piece of chalk and sketched this angled pattern into the sky overhead.
Have a lovely day!

Kitten or Puppy?
This cloud could be so many things. It is a definite circle, with what looks like a tail off to the left. But if you look closely, I can see a darling little face with two eyes...it could be a puppy, or a kitten, I think.
What do you think?

A Robin in a Long-Sided Tree Hexagon
I was climbing around the hills near The Dalles, along the Columbia Gorge with my sister-in-law, niece and nephew. What a beautiful place! I took so many wonderful pictures. But this is one of my favorites.
I adore this photo--It was perfect timing when that little robin landed at the bottom of what looks like a six-sided configuration in the tree. It was just perfect. I looked it up--one might call this an imperfect long-sided Hexagon.
Have a lovely weekend, dear Friends.

Harvest Moon -Skywatch Friday
Not only is it full, but it is called a Harvest Moon. In the not so distant past, before there were lights and electricity, farmers would harvest their crops by the light of the the full moon. The Harvest Moon is different every year. In 2014, the it comes one month after the year’s closest and largest full moon, which was August 10th. In some months, the full moon orbits closer to the earth others and so it appears bigger. Because of this, last night's Harvest Moon counts as what they call a Super Moon. Fascinating, don't you think?
When I look up at the moon I am in awe of its perfect round shape--how it just hangs there in space. I have read all the scientific data on why it stays there--but I am ever bewitched and enchanted by the beauty of a full moon. This was posted earlier in the month, but I thought all my SkyWatch friends would enjoy these pictures of this month's super full moon.

Pond Heart -Guest Heart Thursday
I was over to my Mom's place to help get ready for a family reunion. I spent three and a half days in a tent out in the old blueberry patch. I heard owls hooting, crickets singing--and the wind soughed through the old fir trees...what a wonderful wonderful time.
While I was there, I spied a single flower in Dad's beloved fish pond. Of course you can see the leaves are shaped like hearts!
I have called this blog "Geometric" to describe some of the unusual and amazing shapes found in nature. I know hearts aren't exactly geometric--but it is incredible how many things in nature are in the shape of hearts.

Fiery Heart -Guest Heart Thursday
Tuesday Morning I awoke early. There was a luminous quality to the air, so I went outside with my camera just in case. I'm so glad I did. I caught a beautiful fiery, sideways heart. Just perfect for Guest Heart Thursday!
Have a lovely day, everyone!

Spidey Hearts! -Guest Heart Thursday
What a colorful spider! If you look closely, there are some heartish markings in yellow along the side of the spider's body. I was so taken with this garden spider. He looked just like the gorgeous ones my siblings and I would find in the field in summer when we were kids.
To give you a better perspective as to size--that is my pointer finger. With legs and body, that spider was as big as a quarter...EEEEEEeeeeeek!
But with those amazing interesting heart shapes, he was perfect for Guest Heart Thursday.

Storm's A' Coming -SkyWatch Friday

Moth Wing Hearts -Guest Heart Thursday
I was on the phone, talking to Clytie, when I spotted a moth on the side of our house. I took a closer look and eureka! The moth's wings were covered with hearts!
Here's a closeup of the hearts on its wings.
Still on the phone with Sissie, the moth seemed to be saying, "enough already, I'm trying to rest!"
I have never seen a moth like this one. Is it possible that because I was talking to the Queen of Hearts, the hearts appeared? One never knows! Have a lovely day fellow heart lovers!

Jagged -SkyWatch Friday
Early this Summer I caught this magnificent cloud in the skies. The angular lines contrasted with the softer wispy clouds were so eye-catching. My camera didn't do these clouds justice.
Here is a rounded spindle shaped cloud I caught peeking at me over the back fence. If you love clouds as much as I do--join SkyWatch Friday to see all the amazing things to be found by looking up. Happy SkyWatch Friday and have a lovely weekend.

The Eye of the Cat -Guest Heart Thursday
Reflections are fascinating. Even in a cat's eye. This is Toez the Polydactyl Cat. If you look closely, you can see two reflected hearts. Do you suppose it is her way of saying "I love you?" With a cat, you never know.
Have a lovely day and Happy Guest Heart Thursday!

Blue Parallelogram -SkyWatch Friday
I happened to take this photo in February the day after our chimney fire. I was taken the unusual appearance of a near parallelogram in the sky.
Such beauty in the skies--somehow looking at those sky pictures, I felt hope as we are looking for the contractors to actually begin the restoration of our home sometime next week.

Blue Cloud Heart -Guest Heart Thursday
Sitting on the beach before the fireworks began, the real display was in the clouds. I have such lovely memories of my Mom, my little buddy Theresa and I lying back on the blanket together laughing over how great the clouds looked upside down. In fact, as you can see--this photo is upside down. And yes, there are plenty of hearts to be found.
Here is another photo I took lying back on the blanket--as you can see, there are two jet trails from opposite directions.
I was astounded to see this "E" in the clouds--Mom's first name is Eva. Theresa, Mumsie and I thought this was a pretty wonderful occurence!
Have a lovely day and Happy Guest Heart Thursday!

Angles in the Sky
These straight lines always catch my attention--here is one I caught over the back fence! Isn't this amazing? But then, clouds are continually amazing to my eyes.
Above is a closeup of this odd configuration as it drifted across the horizon.
This triangle'ish cloud is from a different day. I still found it's look to be intriguing.
Have a lovely week everyone!

Jellyfish Heart -Guest Heart Thursday
Here is another heart from the sea, found whilst walking along the pounding surf. What fun! A jellyfish heart. Thrown purposefully at our feet on our anniversary, I'm sure!

Gathering of Three -SkyWatch Friday
I caught this gathering of three puff clouds over our back yard awhile back. I was fascinated by the way they looked. I can see all kinds of animals and faces in this odd set of clouds.

Muscle Heart -Guest Heart Thursday
I found so many hearts at the seashore when my husband and I stayed in Oregon's magnificent Pacific City. This is a muscle shell. The inside of this shell is beautiful--looks like blue and purple rainbow mother-of-pearl.
Walking on the beach with my darling husband, celebrating our anniversary of 31 years--of COURSE I would find hearts!

The Beauty of Flowers
I have ever been fascinated by the symmetrical beauty found in flowers, leaves and plants. This photo shows one of the flowers I love best, in all it's loveliness. Five rounded petals within--five pointed ones outside...The Creator loves flowers, I think.
Have a beautiful day.

Sparkled Ocean Heart -Guest Heart Thursday
Here is another heart rock I found at the ocean last week. This heart was bathing in a sunny depression of rock found along the edges of the cliffs of one of Oregon's jewels of the sea, Pacific City.
If you notice, not only is the rock in the shape of a heart--but there is a tiny heart on the rock itself. Just perfect for Guest Heart Thursday!
